Clean broken recording files with clear mechanical rules

Mechanical cleanup looks at properties that do not require a judgement about the video's content. Rules can identify zero-byte files, recordings below a chosen size, clips below a minimum duration, unfinished artifacts, and files older than a chosen age.

Empty and incomplete-file cleanup are enabled by default. Age and minimum-duration rules remain optional because a short or old recording can still be valuable.

Preview the plan before changing anything

A dry run scans the selected folders and lists every proposed mechanical deletion with its reason and size. Content-based rules show the original duration, kept duration, cut count, or whole-file decision.

Apply remains disabled until a dry run produces a non-empty plan. The confirmation step separates ordinary file cleanup, cleaned exports, and whole-file decisions so one total cannot hide a more destructive action.

Export cleaned sections without deleting the source

Content cleanup uses local classifier signals to create kept and removed ranges. It can keep matching sections, remove matching sections, or mark results without exporting or deleting anything. Padding, gap merging, and minimum-duration controls reduce tiny cuts.

Range-based cleanup exports a new compiled video and keeps the original by default. Replacing the source or moving it to Trash requires an explicit choice. The same compilation pipeline is available in the livestream video editor.

Audit and cancel cleanup work

Cleanup history records the rule, file, original duration, output duration, removed duration, output path, status, and any error. Exported results can be revealed in the file explorer.

A running cleanup can be cancelled. Completed actions remain in history so a partial run does not disappear from the audit trail. Saved defaults make a carefully reviewed rule set reusable.
